We’re a well-funded, social commerce startup from Barcelona on a mission to disrupt the retail industry by drastically reducing grocery costs for the average consumer. We aggregate consumer purchasing power through team purchases, where users get together to save up to 40% on their day to day shopping by purchasing directly from the supplier and cutting out any unnecessary middlemen.

💌 The position: Community Manager

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to kickstart their career in a startup and has passion for ideating concepts to make users engage with a product or service.

We need a Community Manager with the role of understanding who our target audience is and creating content that resonates with that audience. We really value out-of-the-box thinking and bringing crazy ideas that makes us stand out. We are challenging the way people buy everyday and we want users to become excited with our movement. You will be working with an exceptional team and will report to the Marketing Manager.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Setting and implementing social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies.
  • As our community manager, you will take ownership of our social media platforms creating fresh content to build the Buo community: Instagram, Telegram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Blogs...
  • Research forums where our users are active and enter the conversation with creative messages.
  • You will be responsible for managing our content partnerships with blogs and influencers.
  • You will collaborate with our graphic designer to bring all your ideas to life.

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

We know that perfect candidates don’t exist. We’d love to learn more about you. Even if just a few of those apply to you. 🦄

  • Content creation Skills - You have previous experience creating content for direct-to-consumer brands. You are great at communicating on media channels and are willing to gain skills as a community manager.
  • Community building Skills - You have created, managed or joined an online community with a shared interest
  • Project management Skills - An online community consists of multiple moving parts. We want you to be organised, define what conversations are driving value for Buo and organise your work to bring all these parts together.
  • Analytical Skills - Don’t worry, we don’t need you to be an analytical expert ;) We do want you to be able to gather user data like feedback and customer satisfaction that will help you to discover insights.
  • Native Spanish Speaker - The main language in our content will be Spanish. English is a plus.
  • Fantastic attention to detail
  • Proactive and Independent (initiative), disciplined and highly organised approach to work

  • We're small (12 people), so if you like more established companies, this role isn’t for you. You'll help create our company's culture.
  • We're an early stage startup. Projects and priorities are likely to shift.
  • You should be comfortable with just a dash of chaos.
  • Buo is pro-startup, pro-tech organisation. If that’s not your thing, this isn’t the place for you.
  • We haven’t found Product Market Fit yet so you’ll need to help us get there.

📇 Our application process

We try our best to keep a clear process for the role. Here's how you should expect the hiring process to be like:

  1. Submit our online application form (5-10 minutes) depending on how creative you get
  2. 10 minute phone call so you can learn more about the role/company and see if there is a potential fit.
  3. Take home business case
  4. 1 hour interview with the Marketing Manager.
  5. Depending on step 4 we might ask for a 30 minute interview with one of Buo’s Founders.
